Meet the Team (Matt)
Welcome to the very first instalment of our ‘Meet the Team’ blog posts – a series where we reveal a little bit more about our video production team.
This time around we’re meeting our President of Overthinking, Matt!
1) Favourite TV programme?
“You already know this one…!”

2) What job did you want to do when you were younger?
“I wanted to be Peter Schmeichel – I played in goal for the Primary School but then I went and played as a central midfielder – all I wanted to do was play football.
The closest I got was playing against Plymouth Argyle, Exeter City and Walsall U16 teams and reaching the semi-final of a national cup competition, also representing South Devon – can that be classed as 3 international caps?
Then after that I didn’t know what I wanted to do really! I always enjoyed maths (yes I used the word enjoy…!) and then I found a passion for broadcast journalism and went from there!”
3) Dream holiday destination?
“I’m more of a city break kind of guy, rather than a burn on the beach person – mainly because I really do burn. So with that in mind, I think Barcelona and Prague are right up there but somewhere I haven’t been – Cape Town, Sydney or Rome. Let’s say Cape Town!”
4) Who would win in the fight and why – a duck sized lion or 50 lion sized ducks?
“The duck sized lion – the 50 lion ducks would still be timid and run away. Not to mention their weaponry is limited!”
5) Favourite film?
6) If you were to host a dinner party, which 5 people from history would you invite?
“Steve Jobs, Marilyn Monroe, Freddy Mercury, Paul Gascoigne, John Lennon”
7) Favourite animal?
“Lakeland Terrier”
8) Favourite food?
“Chicken”
9) What’s the BEST thing about working for STM?
“When a video has a massive impact it is a great feeling”
10) Tell us a (clean) joke
