Welcome to the first instalment of our ‘My Favourite Project’ series of blog posts!
We love every client we work with and every project we tackle here at Stone’s Throw, but for our team there are usually one or two projects which stand out above the rest as personal favourites.
In this series, we’ll be asking each member of Team STM to share with you their favourite project to date, and reveal why it’s their Number One.
This time around we’re hearing from our Video Vending Machine, Sarah!
For this project we worked with the local football team West Bromwich Albion FC. The marketing team at the club wanted us to create a kit launch video for them to reveal the club’s new home strip for the 2018/19 season.
The club wanted us to create a video for them which not only served as a launch video for the kit, but which also incorporated how proud the club is of its heritage and history.
For this video I was the project leader, so I was in communication with the marketing department at the club to organise the details needed to achieve what the team were looking for.
My colleague Tom and I had to do some pre-production with this project – mainly we had to think creatively regarding how to show off the photos and archived footage which would lead to the reveal of the kit at the end of our effort.
I really enjoyed this project because, being a football fan, I realised how big a deal a kit launch is to the fans so it felt great to be asked to be a part of this project.
I think the end result for this project came out really well, especially with the video elements where we used archive footage of players and made them look like moving photos – I think it was really effective!
Personally, I enjoy projects like this as they allow us to think more creatively than day to day videos, so I hope to do some more like this in the near future!
