STM Success Story (Compton Care Christmas 2018)

One of the really great things about working for Stone’s Throw Media – and of course there are many* – is that sometimes our videos make a real difference.

We’re proud that our videos look great, inform viewers, help organisations solve problems, work really well on social media platforms etc. – but when we can prove that they’re a tangible success….well, we love that more than anything!**

With this in mind, we thought it was time we highlighted some videos of ours which have gone on to become notable success stories (hence the name of this blog!) for our clients.

So, without further ado, here’s a post about one in particular.

In late 2018 we had the pleasure of teaming up with our friends at Compton Care for a very special video indeed.

If you’re a long-term reader of our site or based in the West Midlands (or both!), you’re probably aware that Compton Care (previously known as Compton Hospice) is a Wolverhampton-based provider of palliative care for those in the local community living with complex and incurable conditions.

We’ve worked on a number of projects with the organisation since our formation and it’s always an honour and a privilege to do so.

For this project, we joined forces with the marketing team at Compton Care for a video designed to be the centrepiece of its Christmas 2018 campaign entitled ‘Christmas isn’t Cancelled’.

Designed to show that life with an incurable illness doesn’t mean that festivities have to stop, the campaign was a fundraising effort for the organisation (which offers all of its services free of charge to those who need them) to help “keep Christmas extraordinary”.

You can watch our video for this campaign above, and you can find out more about the project itself on our Portfolio page dedicated to it right here

But what about the video’s impact?

Well, we’re delighted to say that at the time of writing, our video has…

● Been viewed over 26,000 times on Facebook

● Been viewed over 17,000 times on YouTube

● Been shared 239 times on Facebook (including by the Rt Hon Pat McFadden MP)

● Led to donations totalling over £370 through Facebook’s Donate function alone

● Contributed to the charity raising a fantastic £100,000 in total

OK, we’re biased, but we really do feel that these numbers show that a great video production isn’t just a nice thing for a charitable fundraising campaign to have.

Instead, it’s an integral asset and a driver of success.

As we often say however, “self-praise is no praise”, which is why for this blog entry we’d like to leave you with our pal Grace from Compton Care.

Join Grace as she explains a little more about the charity’s campaign, working with us here at Stone’s Throw on this video, and the fantastic impact the video had!
