The aim of this explainer animation project was to show primary school students the various careers that are around them in everyday life. This would then tie into the courses that they may want to consider studying at university to be qualified in the future.
Our explainer animation consisted of two separate videos. Video 1 (above) is all about a family having a car accident and how certain professions are the difference between life and death, or just generally helpful in highlighting the accidents. The roles include paramedics who provide emergency medical care and delivering patients to hospital. Also, journalists get the story out there as soon as possible. Nurses back in the hospital ensure that patients are cared for and their injuries are dealt with. The university offers courses that help people to help others by getting into these kinds of professions.
Video 2 (below) consists of the aftermath and turmoil caused months after the accident. The roles that can help the family include physiotherapists, psychologists and social workers. These types of professions can help families make recoveries and get back to normal as soon as possible. The university again offers courses to help people become qualified in these fields.
Gurpreet, our self-proclaimed animation assassin, had this to say about the project;
Working as a team alongside Jamie on this project, allowed us to make this animation very visually dynamic. We were able to add more animated expressions to the characters to express greater emotion, as well as adding sound effects to drive the animation further.”
