The Stone’s Throw animation team were tasked with creating an impactful awareness animation aimed at increasing public awareness around the potential links between loot boxes in video games and gambling behaviour.
This initiative, commissioned by the University of Wolverhampton, was primarily targeted towards social media and web audiences.
Our approach was to develop a concise, 60-second animation that was not only quick to produce but also highly effective in conveying the message. The animation was designed to be visually engaging, ensuring it captured the viewer's attention whilst educating them about the risks associated with loot boxes.
We created a 60-second awareness animation that succinctly illustrates the parallels between loot boxes and gambling, using compelling visuals and straightforward narration to make the concept easily understandable.
Our animation is a testament to how effective and swift animation can be in raising public awareness on critical issues. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this animation will have in promoting responsible gaming and awareness about gambling behaviours.
Jamie from animation team commented:
We really pushed the envelope in terms of visual storytelling. It's amazing how much you can convey in just a minute. We used a level of animation that was quicker to produce, but still maintained the effectiveness of the message.
