The NHS were looking for an animation to explain the role of Maternity Link Support Workers and how they can support mothers throughout their pregnancy.
We produced an explainer animation around two minutes long to confidently inform and reassure those where English may not be their first language, that there is support available for them.
The primary responsibility of Maternity Link Support Workers is to provide one-on-one support and assistance to pregnant women and their families in navigating maternity services and receiving the appropriate care at the right time.
To start the explainer animation process, the team work on a script and storyboard, both vital parts of the animation production process!
After script and storyboard sign off, the animation team get to work on the exciting part and bring the animation to life!
As well as an English version of the animation, we sourced translated voice overs and subtitles to create a Romanian version. This mean the NHS can reach a wider audience with this video and learn more about the service.
We also made square and vertical versions of this explainer animation in English and Romanian for social media.
Despite our slight bias, we think this explainer animation came out great! Hopefully many people will find it useful, beneficial and it will aid in deepening their understanding.
Jamie, who led the project, said:
This project came at the perfect time because my wife was expecting our first born and we had to go through some of the very stages this animation spoke about so it was a good bit of extra learning for me. Always a fan of the medical explainer animations because of the learning side of it that comes with creating and liaising with real people that have gone through the process. Makes building the video all that more real.
