Briggs Equipment wanted to create an animation that introduces the idea of Digital Transformation to Briggs staff. The animation needed to explain the key reasons for the transformation and direct staff to a podcast where they can find out more.
Briggs Equipment is the exclusive national distributor in the UK for the Hyster and Yale ranges of forklift trucks and other materials handling equipment. The Briggs Equipment Group has grown significantly in recent years through the addition of businesses that compliment their customer activities.
This animation was designed to bring together the methods of communication across each of the groups into the same process.
Briggs approached us with the idea of a company wide animation that would explain their digital transformation process.
With 8 subsidiaries and many different services, Briggs wanted an animation to show to employees across each of these and explain why there would be a digital transformation.
The digital transformation is a new initiative, because they have faced problems around everyone singing off the same hymn sheet when it comes to best practices for communications.
The problem that Briggs faced was that the communications processes were a bit all over the place and there needed to be a set method.
The imagery showed an elephant to represent the fact that their digital processes aren’t the most nimble or agile, but as the animation goes on, the elephant becomes more athletic and it talks about becoming even more so as the transformation continues.
As with anything, change can be a daunting thing in an organisation, so the friendly elephant outlines the positive impact of a digital transformation and gets a lot of information across in a succinct way, that can be shown to employees easily.
The video also acts as a teaser for the Briggs podcast, to which employees can tune in and find out everything they need to know about the digital transformation within the organisation.
After we had agreed a script with Briggs, we set to work putting everything together into a 90 second video; easy to watch and shareable.
Preeti, who led the animation project, said
“Animating a dancing elephant was a first for this project! With that being said, it was very enjoyable to create something dynamic and with a greater flow. Animating something with so much movement and liveliness is always great for us animators, as this project challenged our creativity to make something visually remarkable”
