University Marketing Video (Joe Root Visit)
We visited the University of Wolverhampton to team up with the institution for a marketing video starring a very special guest.
Some jobs are more prominent than others, with one of the most prominent in the country being that of the Test Match captain for the England Cricket team.
Since their very first Test in 1877, England have had 80 captains at the helm – including luminaries such as WG Grace, Michael Atherton and Andrew Strauss – with the 80th, Joe Root, being appointed to the role in February 2017.
Days after his appointment, Joe paid a visit to the University of Wolverhampton for a special day of events to mark the University’s sponsorship of the Sheffield Collegiate Club – the outfit Joe played for as a young man.
During his visit, Joe took part in a Q & A with students (compered by the legendary cyclist Hugh Porter), toured the University’s facilities at two of its campuses (City and Walsall), and got to meet University student and Olympic medal winning gymnast Kristian Thomas, too.
University Marketing Video
We were delighted to be invited by the University to capture Joe’s visit in its entirety, and to create a marketing video for the institution in the process.
Our video – which you can view above – captures what the England captain got up to during his visit, with our footage interspersed with some thoughts from Joe which he shared with us on camera.
As you can see in our video, Joe took time to reflect on what he thought of the University’s facilities, how much he enjoyed meeting the students from local schools at the University’s sports campus in Walsall, and how the Collegiate Club helped him in his development as a cricketer.
We’d like to thank Joe for giving up his time to speak to us, and also thank the University for asking us to help them with this very special marketing video.
