Aerial Video

Barrington Chimney Demolition
Redrow Homes
Our Brief

As part of our ongoing relationship with Redrow we teamed up with the organisation for an aerial video with a difference!

As one of the largest housebuilding companies in the UK, Redrow is continually looking for new locations across the country to place its developments.

One such location is All Saints Gardens in the Cambridgeshire village of Barrington – a site formerly used as a cement works by Cemex UK.

These works were “mothballed” in 2008, yet in the decade since then one element had remained – the iconic 185ft Barrington chimney.

For Redrow to start its development on the site the chimney had to be removed – which is why the team at the housebuilders got in touch with us for an aerial video documenting its destruction!

Barrington Chimney Demolition

For this project, our video production team travelled to Cambridgeshire with our trusty drone in tow to capture the moment the chimney was brought down to earth by the demolition contractors Erith and local resident Kevin Stigwood – the lucky winner of a competition to see who would press the detonator!

Our team sent our drone into the sky for the dramatic moment you can watch above before they handed over a copy of the footage to Redrow.

A famous landmark on the Cambridge skyline, the demolition of the chimney attracted a lot of attention in the media!

As well as to Redrow, our team also handed over their footage to a production company working on a programme for the TV channel Quest, ITV News, and BBC News – with the footage even appearing on the Cambridgeshire section of the latter's website!

Our thanks to the team at Redrow for inviting us to capture this historic moment on film. We think we did a smashing job with this one!

Does your organisation have a special upcoming event which you think could do with being marked with an aerial video?

If so, we know we can help!
