Swim England approached us to utilise our videographer skills as part of their Swim United campaign to ensure all children who leave primary school by 2025 can swim. The Swim United campaign was launched by swimwear brand Speedo alongside Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty, Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds and international swimmer Michael Gunning.
A pop up swimming pool had been setup at a local school, we were tasked with capturing b-roll and interviews to provide a highlights reel.
Our videographer team joined professional swimmers and school children at Shireland Hall Primary Academy in Smethwick to film the build of the pop-up pool and capture interviews from sponsors, athletes, pupils and teachers during the open day event.
The filming captured time lapse footage of the pool build, classroom lessons with professional swimmer Michael Gunning as well as shots of Shireland Hall pupils having swimming lessons from Olympic athletes.
The Stone's Throw videographer team members, Mike, Tom and Rick got stuck in to the day, following the professional swimmers as they got hands on to teach pupils swimming techniques. Sadly the team couldn't escape the water themselves as the pupils splashed around in the pool!
Matt from Stone's Throw had this to say:
It was important to us as a Black Country business to support this campaign and seeing the excitement and enthusiasm of the school involved was amazing. We were delighted to be able to provide our videographers to capture some brilliant footage for a worthy campaign.
