Video Production Case Study

A Day In The Life
Compton Care
Our Brief

Compton Care set us a brief to create a video production case study project to be released over the Christmas period. The aim was to show the care and support that is offered to patients and the difference that they can make - rather than a flashy John Lewis type Christmas advert, we wanted to get a bit more grounded and show a real behind the scenes feel at Compton Care.

A Day In The Life

The video production team followed two Compton workers visiting real people, gathering their thoughts whilst driving around the Wolverhampton and Staffordshire area as well as capturing the help that they offer.

The video was filmed over a few days. We used C300 cameras, tiny hand held cameras, GoPros and steadicams. This gave us flexibility in getting a variety of shots in small spaces on the go. After some time locked away in the editing suite, we could present the first cut of the video to our customer.

Mike, our creative director said:

“It was all about capturing the reality and showing an insight in what Compton Care really does - something that people may not know otherwise. For some people it was a lifeline to have a visit from a friendly face and it was heartwarming to see the difference it makes. The idea for the video came from the sandwich man video which shows how one man helps to feed people by handing out approx 500,000 sandwiches per year. I was really pleased with how the video came together and captured the great work that Compton Care do.”

Grace Lee, Head of Communications at Compton Care, had this to say about the video production case study:

“We approached Stone’s Throw with a brief to help us create a video that would give our audience an insight into the life of our Compton Care nurses at Christmas. We wanted to capture the essence of a day in the life of our Compton nurses, showcasing the many ways we support people with incurable illnesses in the comfort of their own home. We were delighted with the final video, which followed 2 of our nurses on their home visits and beautifully captured their interactions with our patients.

We were particularly pleased with the suggestion from the Stone’s Throw team to capture footage in the car as our nurses travelled to people's homes, these are some of my favourite moments from the video as they feel really genuine and heartfelt. As always, we are really pleased with the quality and creativity that Stone’s Throw provided throughout this project, we’re already looking forward to our next project together.”

It’s been fantastic to support Compton Care on another video. Are you interested in a video production case study from your organisation? Get in touch to see how we can help you.
