Dog Fostering Scheme

We teamed up with one of the largest charities in the UK for a video made up of video interviews regarding a scheme the organisation runs across the country.

OUR BRIEF

Founded in London in 1891 during the first ever ‘Crufts’ dog show, Dogs Trust is today the biggest dog welfare charity in the UK, and cares for over 17,000 dogs each year through its network of 20 rehoming centres in the UK.

Not only is the charity now active in 10 countries around the world, it also advises government ministers at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and has been heavily involved in all major animal welfare legislation over the past 30 years.

Dogs Trust contacted us regarding the creation of a video concerning one of its relatively new schemes it was keen to promote – that of dog fostering.

Dogs Trust receive a number of dogs that react better in a home environment than they do in kennels, and so are always on the lookout for foster carers that are happy to take dogs into their homes until they can be rehomed permanently elsewhere.

We joined forces with the staff at its rehoming centre in Evesham, Worcestershire, for a video containing video interviews designed to highlight the scheme.

OUR VIDEO

Our two minute video – which you can view above – includes interviews with some current dog fosterers, and goes into detail about the scheme and the benefits it has brought to both volunteer and organisation.

Alongside the interviews our video also contains footage of dogs with their foster carers (we weren’t going to pass up on that opportunity!) and a link for prospective fosterers to find out more about the scheme: https://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/fostering/

OUR CLIENT’S THOUGHTS

Our video was greeted with a positive reaction, with Michaella Maryon, Regional Press Officer at the Dogs Trust, saying:

“Stone’s Throw were briefed to produce a short video to help bring to life the impact fostering dogs has on the dogs’ lives whilst they wait to be adopted, and the benefits fostering has on the volunteer carers.

“The video exceeded our expectations and it really added value to the national PR campaign to recruit more foster carers, which resulted in the story being picked up widely in regional press and the video being viewed almost 4,000 times.

“The feedback from everyone across the organisation has been really positive.”
