We teamed up with the Wolverhampton based Compton Hospice for an animated video production regarding the medical condition lymphoedema.
Lymphoedema is a long-term condition which causes swelling in the body's tissues, and commonly affects a person’s arms or legs.
Alongside their work as a hospice, Compton Hospice are proud to be recognised as owning one of the largest specialist lymphoedema units in the country.
Set up in 1996 as a department within the hospice, their lymphoedema service now runs as a stand-alone clinic at the hospice’s Cedars site, and treats around 200 adults per week from the Wolverhampton and surrounding Black Country area.
The hospice approached us regarding the creation of a video designed to inform the general public about what lymphoedema is, its signs and symptoms, and what the hospice can do for those affected by the condition.
Our animation, which you can see above, tackled each of these points in turn in a visually interesting way, whilst making sure to stress that whilst lymphoedema does mean a lifestyle change for those affected, it certainly does not mean the end.
Our video was released to mark Lymphoedema Awareness Week in the UK (March 6-12 2016) and received some fantastic feedback.
The Express & Star newspaper ran a story about the project, which you can read here
We’d like to take a moment to thank Compton Hospice for allowing us to collaborate with them on this project. We were thrilled with our results and with the fantastic feedback, and are delighted to hear that our video has had a positive impact.
